New York City Metro Modern Quilters
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop and promote the art of modern quilting through cooperation, education and community. Our guild promotes the appreciation of quilts, encourages quilt making, supports our members’ education and furthers the growth of the quilting community.
Our Story
The NYC Metro Modern Quilters Guild was established in 2010 to offer a place for quilters to connect and create. We’re a local guild based in New York City and we currently have around 70 members. We’re an inclusive guild and we gladly welcome everyone with an interest in quilt making – including beginners, experienced quilters and everyone in between. We support all styles of quilt making and our guild is a place where everyone is free to explore their own creativity. Check out our blog for the latest news about our meetings, events and recent projects.

Symmetry doesn't have to be rigid. We sewed blocks in sets of four following a few palette and cutting rules. Then we got together and found a pattern we liked, watching the freehand curves ripple and pulse on the design wall.
